“He’s going to go worldwide” — British DJ Tim Westwood tips Black Sherif for greatness

British DJ and media personality, Tim Westwood has tipped fast-rising rapper Black Sherif as the future of Ghanaian music.

Commenting on the Ghanaian music industry on TV3’s ‘Newday’ show, Tim Westwood amongst other things lauded the young rapper’s blossoming music career.

According to him, the ‘Kwaku Frimpong’ hitmaker has what it takes to ensure a great change in the Ghanaian music industry.

“He is going to go worldwide and I am anticipating hosting Black Sherif on my show in the UK,” he said.

He added that Black Sherif is the number one artist in the world together with several other Ghanaian artists.

“The energy right now is amazing. Black Sherif is the number one artist in the world. So many artists out of Ghana are doing amazing things at the moment. It’s great to be part of it.

“Back home, like people in the UK, Christmas is legendary in Ghana. It’s a legendary moment. It’s like the number 1 destination not just for people homecoming but people throughout the world,” he said.

The UK-based DJ is in Ghana ahead of this year’s Easter festive celebrations program dubbed, ‘Easter Club Invasion’ to be held in Kumasi and Osu on April 14 and 15, 2022 respectively.
